Managing Devices

Adding Devices

Manual Addition

  1. Navigate to Asset ManagementDevices
  2. Click Add Device
  3. Enter device details:
    • Name and identifier
    • Device type
    • Owner
    • Location

Automatic Discovery

  1. Run network discovery scan
  2. Review discovered devices
  3. Approve and categorize
  4. Configure monitoring

Deploy a lightweight Cert-IX scanner agent on your internal servers and workstations for continuous, real-time asset discovery and monitoring:

  1. Go to Devices page and click the green Deploy Agent button
  2. Select your target platform (Linux, macOS, or Windows)
  3. Copy the install commands and configuration to your target host
  4. Start the agent — it registers automatically with the platform
  5. The device appears in your inventory within 60 seconds with full telemetry

The agent collects processes, ports, software inventory, system info, and performance metrics. All data is encrypted with TLS 1.3 and sent through the Cert-IX Kafka-first ingestion pipeline.
